The 5600 MeterSE is the same "On Demand" control as the 5600 Meter. It regenerates based on the amount of water used, saving both salt and water. The “SE” stands for “Simple Electronics” meaning it uses an Electronic Keypad Display to set the values instead of Mechanical Dials. With the SE Meter version, you can set the maximum number of days between regenerations in case the preset amount of water used is not met in this time period. This ensures that the softening resin does not sit idle in the tank too long in cases where not much water is being used.
