This unique whole house system is a combination water softener and water filter all-in-one! It softens the water to make cleaning easier, soap "suds" better and it reduces water spots. It also protects water-using equipment including water heaters, dishwasher, washing machine and fixtures from hard water damage and scale build-up. The Watts Stacked Softener also has activated carbon filtration to remove chlorine and VOCs (pesticides, herbicides, chemical contaminants), bad taste and odors. You use salt (or potassium if you prefer) to maintain the softener. Easy to install with a limited plumbing knowledge. The carbon needs to be replaced on average every 2 years at a cost of about $99.00. Softener settings may be set as needed to conserve salt/potassium use.
